this is wonderful news. Just think of it, a nation where a fair percentage of the community is armed, only 118 murders. This even compares favorably to Toronto Canada, which experienced 79 murders last year. Israel has a pop of seven million, whereas Toronto has under three million citizens.
What was not reported in this Haaretz report was the drop of 6% in traffic fatalities, the lowest number in 40 years. Good for Israel.
Now I realize this is not good news for Yaakov Sullivan, who bases much of his illusions on the idea that "occupation" has destroyed Israeli society.
Sadly our neighbors are nuts and married to the cult of death. If only they could learn from us, and become a better society with civil rights, freedom of speech and a speck of humanity.
