What a pity that the Israeli government doesn`t realize what an improvement in quality of life is afforded the elderly when they have access to full time filipino nursing. The filipinos provide proper food, take them outside, and look after them reliably and with care, easing the burden on younger family members who would otherwise have to take time from work to care for their older relatives. How pathetic that the head of the committee designated to `study` this, Trade and Labor Ministry official Ephraim Cohen, is quoted by Haaretz saying that "some of the elderly can make do with a part-time Israeli nurse and do not need a live-in nurse, a job that Israelis are less likely to do". The LAST thing that this country should be doing is to cut off the lifeline of it`s elderly, by making it impossible to get affordable full-time help!
