The abominal behaviour is confined to responses 2, 3 and 5. Hate and prejudice are abominal, not same-sex couples adopting children. This is their right, as citizens of a country where everyone is (or should be) equal before the law. And if you would like to preach on the welfare of the child, as I imagine you would, then let us not forget that the rate of domestic violence in the Orthodox community runs at about 25%, a shameful figure.
If you claim the religious do not serve in the army because of `queers`, then it is an insult to the religious who do not serve due to their dedication to study. If this is your reason, and you use the `religious` tag to get out of the army and contributing something to the state you live in, then shame on you.
I`d rather be queer than ignorant and hateful. Many religious right-wing people seem perfectly happy to be hateful until the irrational hatred is directed at them, then they cry the loudest about how unacceptable it is. |
