| when Barak "suddenly" pulled out of Southern Lebanon, and Sharon "suddenly" pulled out of Gaza, both on their own accord, for their own reason, they also both failed at helping create a more peaceful region. Barak could have credited the moderate Democrats in Lebanon by giving the appearance of them brokering the pull out, thus weakening the Iranian`s and the Syrian`s in that region. Similarly Sharon could have been the "king maker" in the post Arafat world of Palestinian politics, but since Sharon`s actions were not attributed to the efforts of any Arab officials, it`s no wonder they are more divided than ever, as Fatah runs the West Bank, and Hamas does Gaza. both pullouts did MORE damage to peace, then their architects ever intended, and only embolden more terror against Israel because of the way they were handled diplomatically. |
