| After a visit to Lithuania some 6 years ago - I wrote to the local Rabbi in Vilnius questioning Chabad`s efforts to recreate the JEwish community in that part of the world considering the fact that the glorious pre-WW2 Jewish community was destroyed there. I cannot fathom why Chabad in America is investing so much money and effort in building a new Jewish existence there. Today we have Israel, and the goal of all JEws should be to come here, and not reestablish Jewish communities in places where we are clearly not welcome. |
