| Stephen, the Bushehr powerplant is rated when running at full capacity at just 1 gigawatt. According to the US Dept. of Energy, Iran`s generation capacity (in gigawatts) is 34.3 gigawatts in 2004. The US Gov`t estimates demands growing at 6% yearly. That is an increased need of 2 gigawatts per year, according to the DOE. That means Iran would need 2 new Bushehr reactors EVERY YEAR just to keep up with increased demand. Since Iran`s goal is to replace their aging power plants, they need even more reactors on top of that. http://www.eia.doe.gov/emeu/cabs/Iran/pdf.pdf You clearly have no idea what you are talking about.
