The Winograd committee had it right when they say that it is the moral decline in Israeli society that is at the heart of the problem. There is nothing that Barak can do about this.
Until the Israelis determine to arrest the democratic deficit incurred by their brutal occupation, then Israeli society will continue to fester and rot from the inside. The alternative, and one closer to the real Israeli psyche, is to come clean and admit that a Jewish state is a fundamentalist one, on a par with Saudi Arabia and Iran. |
