The statistics are clear, if everyone did not work, lived off donations, and did not serve in the army then we would not exist. The history of sacrifice of this nation has come from more liberal minded and traditional Jews that were willing to work hard, paid their Jews. No one is worth more than the other, observant or not. A man`s character says a lot about him and allowing the majority of secular/traditional Jews to take that burden while they do not and live of a State benefits is wrong. Good for us that there are religious soldiers that do not think that way. The State is also wrong and should not be giving such benefits.
If they want to be true to their views then they should at least call themselves consciencous objectors, work for their studies and live off their own labour, not welfare. At least it would be less hypocritical and far more moral of character. A lot more respect would then be given to them even if we disagreed. |
