The Winograd report confirms what we know: Olmert acted incompetently. True, others are also guilty of incompetence, including Livni who simply went along with the herd. But the final responsibility rests with Olmert...not Livni, not Peretz, not the IDF.
In a normal country, where principle rules, a disgraced leader like Olmert would resign. But Israel is not normal. The arguement is that if Olmert goes we get Bibi and an end to the peace process. Maybe. But, a principle must be respected. A failed leader like Olmert must go. |
