I am lebanese myself, been living in beirut for most of my life and have recently moved to paris.
I have to tell you guys, all these silly statements about "fatwas" and "angry islam" that I read sometimes on this forum are nothing but the biggest evidence that ignorance prevails on both sides of the fence. it has to stop. there is no such thing as "fatwa" in lebanon, for lebanon is not an "islamic" country. It is not because hezbollah exists that ALL lebanon is like that. you have Avigdor lieberman, does it mean that every single israeli sticks to his radical, racist statements? besides there is a very well respected jewish community in Lebanon. we have to stop the "Arab=islam" or the "islam=terror" bullocks. it`s not because a bunch of lobotomized ignorants do what they do that everyone has to be in the same pack. We are neighbours guys, we should know better about ourselves. if our societies don`t know anything about each other, how the heck will peace come? through art, maybe. |
