As a Canadian citizen from Ontario living in Israel, I can tell you that the Canadian medicare system is in the red. Hospital beds are being closed & wards shut down. If by pulling the plug on an old man the hospital can save money, they will try. This happens every day! It all depends on the ethecs & morals of the physicians & others involved. Families must fight to save their loved ones.
All this being said, the system of universal health care in Canada is still a good one & is far superior the health care in the U.S. |
