Actually it means the IDF continued to direct bombs and artilliary fire in very close proximity to the Canadians, knowing they were there, and with more concern for defeating the Hizbullah (miserable failure anyhow) than protecting the Canadians. The war on Lebanon was totally unnecessary to start with, and these brave Canadians were targeted by the IDF.They lost their lives in vain.
