Joseph`s Tomb is a perfect example of what would happen to Jewish holy sights if Israel loosened it`s grip on Maarat haMachpela in Hebron, or the old City of Jerusalem. Israel must establish a safe corridor for Jewish Pilgrims going to and from Joseph`s Tomb, even at the expense of Arab towns, and Israeli soldiers lives. If we don`t, we may as well have established the Jewish state in Ethiopia. These Hasidim may seem irresponsible and out of touch with reality on the ground, but they are still right about the Jewish people needing to be there, and these incursions may be the only way they have to communicate this need to a complacent Jewish society, in which our Arab enemies see their "conquest" of Joseph`s Tomb as just the beginning of their recapture of all Jewish holy sights, and our Jewish identity to the land of Israel along with it.
