This was a commission of inquiry charged with investigating the performance of the government and military. It was not a "war crimes" commission nor was the subject of "war crimes" in its mandate at all. It did not "choose" to ignore the issues Amnesty brings up, rather, Amnesty`s pet peeves were not supposed to be central to the Winograd Commission. Amnesty has a problem with being fixated on their supposed goals, while being ignorant of anything else in the world. Maybe that`s why they issue dozens of reports that criticize Israel, but only once every few years remember that Palestinians are carrying out war crimes on a daily basis. |
