| As a Brazilian who has been exposed to Carnival and overall Brazilian culture my entire life, I must say the judge hit the nail on the head by stating that this float trivializes the Holocaust. I am sure that no racism or anti-Semitism was meant, but trivialization of such horror is not necessary a lesser offense. Brazilians are notorious for their alienation with regards to Jewish matters both now in Israel, and during WW2 in Europe. These are considered distant facts that have no real bearing on their daily reality. |
