We all know that war is violent and a lot of innocent people also get hurt in it. This is why Israel tries to live in peace with its neighbors. That site that you recommended us to see is also a proof that the Israelis do a lot of thinking and self criticism and Israel?s democracy allows such self criticism to be published and discussed. This self criticism is none existent in the Arab and Muslim societies. If Arabs could have done the same it could have a big impact in reaching a peaceful ME. Qassams fall in southern Israel daily, suicide attacks have been stopped but not because Arabs don?t want to do it but maybe due to the security fence. A great opportunity for peace with a Palestinian Arab state could have been achieved in 2000 at Camp David with the Clinton offer but Arabs rejected it in favor of pursuing war.
I will finish my post by reminding these words from Golda Meir:
Peace will come when the Arabs will love their children more than they hate us. |
