The simplest move for Barak would be an ultimatum to Kadima: five days to drop Olmert, or Labour quits the government. Kadima would lose most of its Knesset members in the event of anticipated elections and even more if it refused to drop Olmert, and Barak would strengthen his position in the eyes of public opinion and gain thereby in case of elections.
