Title:What would be the point by Barak for calling early elections?

Indeed, what does Ehud Barak think by calling early elections would accomplish? Who is he kidding? I`m somewhat a supporter of the Labour ideologies, etc. but does Ehud Barak really think that he has the Israeli support behind him or his party to deliver a peace agreement this year, 2008? It`s very unlikely that Labour has the manpower (and womenpower) to have a solid backing, even while formulating a coalition government subsequent to an election - isn`t the same dilemma for PM Olmert`s (Kadima) to entice both Shas and Likud-minded people to make "painful concessions", going to be an even greater challenge? So why even take the gamble? I think that to challenge PM Olmert at this hour would be unconscionable and would once again, for the umpteenth time bring down a government attempting to make crossroads towards peace. Please, Labour people think of the country`s sake rather than your political ambitions!
