There will be no elections as the Winograd report has stated there are structural deficiencies. These were systemic within the decision making process during the Lebanon campaign. The lack of forward strategic planning and also failure to ascertain the extent of Iranian influence in the region were contributory factors. On a strategic context insufficient resources, personnel and logistics were committed to the ground campaign from the outset. Strategically there was too much reliance upon he air campaign and this led to a delay by the IDF on the ground campaign. On a communications viewpoint there was a lack of fluidity between politicians and senior Generals. On a logistical emphasis there were personnel in theatre of operations that went without food for days. Further to that the media were camped on a 24/7 basis in the theatre of operations which was a distraction for the IDF. The Senior Generals should have placed the strategic considerations from the outset. |
