| I should think that special "Holocaust remembrance days" are counterproductive, since everyone in the Western world is expected to keep the Holocaust in the forefront of his or her consciousness each and every day throughout the year. The spirit of "carnival," in fact, any shred of happiness and simple, unsullied enjoyment of life, obviously ended with the Nazi atrocities against the Jews. I weep daily, as should all educated Westerners. |
