Avi Issacharoff, Haaretz Correspondent and Reuters: IDF troops kill Palestinian teen, hurt another in Bethlehem raid
Talkback
Title:Another unarmed teenager killed.

Other armies and police manage to deal with teenagers throwing things at them without resorting to live fire at the kids. Why does the IDF seem to have such trouble? I know Israel soldiers are mostly only conscripts. Aren`t they adequately trained?

"An IDF spokeswoman said troops had initially used non-lethal riot dispersal means but resorted to live fire at the lower bodies of some demonstrators when they endangered the troops by throwing stones and large building blocks at them."

The account as usual raises more questions than it answers. What non-lethal means? Plus it`s just extremely hard to throw a stone heavy enough to do much damage any distance. Unless the teens were dropping things from above, but that can`t be the case, or the IDF would not have been able to aim at their lower bodies.

Little chance of a proper investigation by the IDF, so why doesn`t Haaretz do one?
