No matter how much they might have denied it Hezbullies are aiming to take over the government of Lebanon. At first this will be on behalf of Syria seemingly, since Syria still believes that Lebanon belongs to it, not acknowledging boundaries. But Syria might get a shock when it eventually happens, because Hezbullies will emerge as a force on their own.
The force preventing this is the weak economic state of Lebanon that keeps the US and the UN involved in its welfare, so at the moment its weakness is its strength. |
