Finally, someone level-headed writing about Jerusalem. Last time I checked, no one is suggesting we divide Jerusalem. Go to East Jerusalem. Compare that with life in West Jerusalem. What exists now is not tenable: the Jerusalem government maintains jurisdiction over East Jerusalem, but doesn`t offer the same basic city services (sewers, security, etc.) it offers Israelis in West Jerusalem. East Jerusalem is "Jerusalem" in name only. Yet Olmert continues to expand the occupation, blocking access to East Jerusalem from the overwhelmingly Arab West Bank. What a mess.
