| Israel is trying to have it both ways., like a basketball team that double guards a point guard. The adept guard, can break the defenses, which is what Hamas just did. They maneuvered around Egypt`s wishy washy security, and Israel`s boycott of some fuel., hoping to achieve substantial gains..which they did temporarily. Israel was accused of starving the Pals, and Egypt of obstructing legitimate needs of the Pals. (Egypt in essense did nothing to stop the onslaught). Israel`s boycott accomplished nothing..Kassams still are being rained. Now, terrorists may add to Israel`s woes on the border with Egypt. Instead of simplying the problem, Israel has worsened it, typically. If Hamas marches 500,000 on Israel`s border, what will Israel do? That possibility has yet to be decided in my opinion. Israel is trying to avoid going back in force in the Strip, and creating a buffer zone..the longer it waits, the harder the problem. Any Iranian intervention will make an impossible situation worse. |
