| This war was so political, the present Gov. of "Hermit" tried to outdo something that in the past worked for Sharon. The kidnapping of Zahal soldiers in Shebaa Farms, was not good enough reason to go to war, less so to bomb Lebanon, with its weak Siniora Government. Hermit was probably coerced by Dan Halutz and Washington. Negociations would have worked, it was a question of real political will. Alternatives such, as we have seen, controlling Zahal with orders and counter orders in the first stages of the war was counterproductive. Zahal became again the scapegoat for political failures. Dayan has unfortunately spoken out, to the detriment of Zahal.! This is a weak government, which cannot afford to place more useless tasks on the IDF. The Winograd Report will prove without any doubt, the irresponsability of our present P.M.! |
