A few months ago, I was able to commend the IDF in how it had changed tactics to drastically reduce "collateral` damage.
Since the end of the Annapolis Dog and Pony Show, that has changed.
Israel has again returned to a more indiscriminate policy.
I understand the frustration caused by the qassams. A lousy weapon, but someone harmed or killed by one is just as hurt as someone whacked by a `great" precision guided munition.
I also understand how incompetent politicians can`t admit to pursuing idiotic strategies, and thus need to strike out to conceal their failure.
Mr. Peres can make all the claims he wants, but the statistics are obvious to all.
The man is just making himself look senile by pretending that the world is flat and Israel doesn`t kill lots of people besides terrorists.
Anyone who pays attention understands that Israel can - and from time to time does - avoid `collateral damage."
All I can do is approve when it does, and not lie when it doesn`t. |
