| never said that jews should not live in the ME.What I have said repeatedly in these threads is that jews must live within the Partition Line of 1947 when they got 56% of the land.Since then they got greedy and used the 1948 war as an excuse to grab another 22% & then in 1967 the remainder! The Arabs rejected Partition because they saw it as a betrayal.Frankly,I believe the zionist enterprise was an ill conceived misadventure.But now that it is here,it has de facto existence.Its de jure existence is owing to the UN.Hamas recognises the de facto part,has said so.But to expect them to say it recognises the `right` to exist takes the whole debate on to another plane.It is giving israel a free pass for all the crimes it has committed towards the Palestinians in the past & is presently doing so.That is the fine distinction.As for the settlements they should all go physically to Palestine.jews can take citizenship.Those who don`t want it,can go back to israel or wherever they came from. |
