I used to have a Bank Leumi account six years ago. When I went to close it before leaving the country, I discovered that there were recurring monthly charges by some unrecognized company.
At the time, I did not have a credit card, check book, or online banking. I worked for cash, paid rent in cash, and used a pre-paid telephone, thereby making any charges, recurring or otherwise, impossible. The bank said they had no idea where the charges were coming from, or who the company was. They told me they could give me back the money from the last month (no question asked) but the other money was gone.
