This piece of personal philosophising demonstrates how intelligence is not determined by degrees- which are so proudly displayed. Evidentally Jason is sensitive to his more religious conterparts who have a more realistic fix on the realities & dangers of Jerusalem border maneuvering. His 6 months of touring and "intensive" soul searching and learning has given him a barely peripheral understanding of life in Israel. Those more religious Jews in the US have on average spent years of time in Israel knowing far more about borders, concessions, and faith than Jason the novice. He is lucky that Haaretz is here to give him his soap box. On issues of life and death, every Jew has a voice and if we for some reason end up with a psychopath as a leader in Israel, every Jew must speak up and help. You may have learned this if you stayed in a qualified yeshiva for another 6 months. |
