Title:To Nedal and other Palestinians

I agree the writer is misunderstanding the concept of ?one-state? thinking it will be the status quo. The problem with the concept is that 95% of Jewish Israelis cannot (at this point) give up the Zionist and Jewish identity of the state. Zionism and the idea of a Jewish state are a security blanket for us which we are not ready to give up. Palestinians have to understand this just as we have to understand Palestinian links to the land. Seeing as how we have been trying to kill each other for 60 years, my fear of a bi-national state is that one of the peoples will annihilate the other. With so much hatred between us, I am sure this will happen. So I am for two-states and hopefully good relations. If after years of non-violence, I am sure many Israelis would be much more open to some sort of federation as long as both peoples rights are safe guarded. Trying to convince them at this point will never work and will prolong the violence which none of us want.
