| The Human Rights Council represents a good cross section of the worlds nations. It should be noted that not a single nation voted in Israels favor. Those nations that believed Israel to be guilty of human rights violations, but wanted to keep political peace with America and Israel simply abstained. Israels traditional defense to these charges? "We aren`t the only one!". The Human Rights Council was formed to bypass the usual procedure in which America simply vetoed every resolution critical of Israel. A more fair and honest approach would have avoided a lot of unpleasentness, but at least the world recognizes the racism in Israel and the bias present in America. |
