| Make no mistake "One State Solution" is code or a euphemism for elimination of the Jewish population. There are no viable Jewish communities in the Arab World. Jews were forced out as soon as these countries gained their independence. This was no accident of history. All minorities in the Arab world suffer to varying degrees, and exist solely at the pleasure of the regime. Many are quietly leaving while the world is silent. Others are being violently expelled, DARFUR, while the world is silent. The settlements are not the obstacle. When the border is drawn the Jews will evacuate because unlike in Israel where you have many thriving Arab communities, (in spite of the circumstances) there is no possibility of Jewish communities existing in Arab controled evacuated areas. Viability is not Israel`s responsibility! Looking at a map Singapore defies all logic as being viable, but in fact they are a major regional player way beyond proportion to their size. Sadly the emerging Palestinian state is never going to be another Singapore. All logic dictates they remain with Jordan. Jordan offers them the stability and the self determination they claim they are striving for. However if the Arabs want to further divide Arab Palestine between themselves that is their affair. The less viable these entities are is not Israel`s responsibility. Our interests dictate stability of course but we can`t dictate good governance, sound economic policies good education family planning or any of the many things necessary for a truly viable state to emerge. Ever since the creation of the Palestinian Authority they have taken absolutely no measures to solidify their gains for the benefit of the people. Billions of Dollars, Billions of Euros have gone in and been squandered on the establishment more than a dozen security services keeping them individually to weak to effect a regime change, other monies were pissed away paying salaries for jobs that never were more than staying loyal to various individuals. My feeling is that at the end of the day Israel will be forced to act unilaterally withdrawing to self defined borders. The Palestinian state will continue to deteriorate and act aggressively, i.e. terrorism against Israel. Israel will in turn be forced into various scenarios such as constant military strikes, with many and frequent intrusions and possibly being forced to create semi-permanent military zones. If you were to pay attention to Arab Media you would quickly understand there is no earnestness in ending Palestinian distress or creating a Palestinian State. There is no model in the entire Arab World of a pluralist society, and minorities of significant size simply equal civil war. This is what we see in Iraq, the Sudan, Algeria, the Lebanon and now Iraq. The violence may subside and ebb but it is never far from the horizon. The Arab states where there is no oil, are little more than a series of failed states. They have almost no industry and nobody is running there to invest, labour intensive industry has no reason to locate there, China is cheaper and more stable. They lack a skilled population so there is no hi tech. The Arab States outside of oil and recycling petro dollars contribute in no real way to the world economy. They are incapable of giving young people any future so they fill the mosques and madrasas and turn their anger on the West the Jews and of course any unfortunate minority. One State, Bi National State, Return of Refugees, or the even more ominous `Repatriation` of the Jews (forced or otherwise), are euphemisms who sole objective is elimination of a Jewish presence and Arab sovereignty from the Atlantic to the Persian Gulf. |
