| Ha`Aretz neatly removes the story from its context. The "state" exists to serve people. The treatment of the Gush Katif refugees and the actions of the police at Amona highlight the abandonment of the people by their government. Thus, the government gets what it gives - disloyalty. They government is not a benign bystander. It has created the soup in which it cooks itself. The draconian treatment of the girls at the hands of the police are simply another ingredient in the soup. |
