The parade is scheduled on the only day available for them in their `Fasching` holiday period preceding Lent. So when the city learned of the conflict, they did what they could do which was to change the parade route so that it wouldn`t pass by the Holocaust memorial, which was probably not a very easy task to accomplish logistically for an event that size. The behavior at these carnivals is disgusting any day of the year, but that`s not the issue here. Haaretz, eager to make a good headline, neglected to report critical facts that would have transformed the story from rhetorical verbiage to something useful.
