Isn`t it problematic to speak in vast generalities about any society, whether Israeli or Arab? As in: "Israelis and/or Arabs (all of them, presumably) like to boast, show machismo, and then you realize it`s just talk."
Does that mean all Israelis are full of empty threats? Or all Arabs? That this is part of the "Israeli mind" or the "Arab mind"? This type of "analysis" is really just armchair stereotyping. It`s vulgar, and does little to help understand actual people, instead of abstractions.
Nonetheless, this the the level of "analysis" used by most people -- including in Talkback -- to understand the Middle East. And we wonder why there`s no peace. |
