That would involve the US military confirming that Iran is not involved in any violence in Iraq? Which the US military did yesterday.

A word of caution, if the United States gives permission for Israel to attack Iran (unlikely) Even Bush realises that the game would be up in Iraq. The troop surge was the last roll of the dice.

Bush and Putin has agreed a different less bellicose diplomacy to get Iran to realise it does not need to enrich Uranium. The International community will guarantee reactor grade fuel.

It appears to be working. Rafsanjani has sent out feelers. Israel is going to do nothing for quite a while, possibly until after Bush leaves the White House. The NIE gave Bush his get out clause.

Like a canary in a coalmine, it will be sanctions or lack of them which will tell us what the world is going to do with Iran.
