| My opinion of President Shimon Peres changed when he commuted the unfair and unjust prison sentence of Naomi Blumenthal. She was ordered to report to prison for some technical campaign violation, and I thought that it was a decent and humane act for President Peres to keep her out of jail. President Peres is now promising the Israeli people that they, the Israeli voter, will get to decide whether or not to approve a "peace deal" with the Palestinians, and I respect the President of Israel for his honesty and integrity (even if it took him eighty-four years to acquire these traits.) As the expression goes, "It is never too late." |
