Much of it is superstition rather than genuine Judaic practise. Does anyone know why we dont glorify Moses or have Cup of Moses on the seder table? If they understood that then a Cup of Miriam would be absurd which it is.Trouble is that people are ignorant and introduce rituals that are mindless, because the people that do them have never had a serious Jewish education.How many can discuss Rambam, Rashi, Soloveitchik? |
