My understanding is that there are many in the old guard PLO who are still nationalistic & would constitute a third force other than the corrupt PLOfactions and who have tried to persuade abbas to unite with Hamas.They see as Fayyad as the serious obstacle.abbas,I`m afraid lurches around from one position to another.Fayyad has been trying persuade abbas not to close ranks with Hamas.If the collaborators are defeated then there is hope for Palestine.I personally see Hamas as a genuine Resistance Movment that decided to participate in the electoral process.Neverthless,their determination& dedication have not been diluted,although the vile siege,the incursions& their dodging of assasins` bullets have kept them from pressing forward. |
