This is certainly correct and far too often goes unremarked upon.
The truth is, that after 60 years everyone has grown used to (if not comfortable with) the occupation. Israeli military planners have grown used to it. Israeli colonists have grown used to it. And the Palestinian elite have learnt how to make a career from it.
None of that`s to say that things can`t change -Although I do believe that when change comes it will swift, brought about by external pressure, and not through the a tired and cynical charade of negotiations. |
