| We live increasignly regimented lives. CCTV watches us, the government reads our emails and listens to our phone calls. In the UK now, there is even bordering on thought crime. You can be put in jail for having a pamphlet supporting violent Jihadism (and presumably other forms of extremism) even if there is no proof you ever intended to commit violence. Anonymous talkbacks are one of the last places people can say whatever they like without consequence. It`s like a pub on the internet, where people can relax. If you genuinely want to change the world, you write to politicians or start a campaign. The talkbacks are more like a party where you drop in for 5 minutes and find out what other people think. Some of what is said is ugly, some is stupid, some trivial, some a lie, but some is funny, some intelligent, some inspiring and above all it`s FREE. Didn`t the West once used to believe in freedom? |
