| Abbas clearly thinks that only reconciliation with Hamas can save his tusch. Olmert saw Bush off to schlep his case for war with iran to the Arab world, and immediately escalated his war against the Palestinians. As this could hardly effect the Palestinians (what matter if you kick me in the groin twice a day or three times?) it sent a very clear message to Bush that Israel was going to do NOTHING about peace. It was only last June that opportunity knocked at the door of Bush and Olmert. It says everything that they knocked it. It says even more that one of the men accompanying Bush is Elliot Abrams, the man who sold Fatah on attempting the violent overthrow of Hamas. This also has to have been noticed by Abbas. |
