| What a minute. Israeli governments, both Labour and Likud, engendered the colonist movement, financed it, subsidised it, encouraged it with financial incentives, praised its zealousness, gave military support and used the IDF to construct roads, water systems, fencing off private palestinian land, etc. What can they claim now they were thinking when called upon to remove these illegal squatters throughout palestine? They created this frankenstein and now they claim that they are surprised by violent resistance to their removal? This defies reason. More likely of course is they knew that all along, planned it and now can use the threat of violence as an excuse to prevent any action being taken. If these were Arab squatters, they would be using bulldozers and live ammunition to clear them out. |
