| Israel is not interested in evacuating anything from the west bank. The settlers play their role and the police and the IDF play their roles. The result is much shouting, posturing, and drama, but precious little in the way of evacuation. If Israel was really interested in evacuating an outpost, they would not announce the time and place for the confrontation in advance. After the deadline passed, they would move in the early hours, setting up roadblocks and decending upon the outpost in force and move the remaining settlers with little fuss. |
