History has recorded the rise of Islamic extremism under the pressure of large groups of displaced Palestinian refugees, whose camps became seed beds of radicalism infecting Islamic youth susceptible to the "Che Guevara" rebel romanticism mixed with radical interpretations of the Koran. So lack of peace with the Palestinians was always at the epicenter of this disintegration of social, political, and religious stability in the Middle East, which has reached a critical point, a point of no return at present.
Bush is taking the only rational recourse in this matter, which demands his maximum wisdom, energy, and courage. Otherwise history will never forgive Bush. |
