| What the writer says is UNTRUE. It was the police that initiated the violence. The many head injuries suffered by the protestors proves this because regulations prohibit the police from using truncheons on the upper part of the body. Very few police were injured whereas hundreds of protestors were. Trials are being held against police who severly beat protestors and they admitted that their commanders told them to use maximum force. Olmert wanted this violence just like he initiated the war in Lebanon..in order to look "tough" like his mentor Sharon, and both failed miserably. |
