In order to protect historically significant sites and relics, a Law that forbids destruction of such sites --as well as export of relics out of Israel-- which are older than say 50 years, is needed in Israel. For example the Tel Avivīs beautiful "funk"-style architecture from the 30s, in my opinion belongs to the protected ones too(!). Furthermore I hope Israel could co-operate with UNESCO and bring some of Israelīs culturally most important places to its attention, like the archeological findings underneath the Temple Mount.....recommending The Jewish Temple Ruins and Basement/Tunnels to the UNESCOīs list of worldīs cultural heritages, which must be preserved. The UNESCO may also forbid arbitrary Moslem excavations in the Temple Mount, because there is a risk of doing away with the relics, which are of Jewish heritage and from times pointing out to various conquerors of the Holy Land through the Ages. |
