The President has limited powers to delay these things without Congress` agreement which was Arens` whole point. Ohlmert, like his predecessor Sharon (who Bush Jr. looked up to), and his allies in the left-wing media use "American pressure" as a boogeyman to cow recalcitrant members of his government and frighten the Israeli public so they`ll go along with his/their plans. |
