Arab leadership recognizes Israel`s right to exist as the nation-state of the Jewish people. Presently this leadership recognizes only the fact that Israel exists, thank you very much! But withholding the legitimacy of Israel`s existence, negating it really, is pre-requisit for yet another attempt to annihilate this "illegitimate" entity when the opportunity presents itself.
Therefore, unless the Palestinian Arabs finally state clearly - in Arabic, Hebrew and English - that Israel is here by right and the nature of the state having been determined by its citizens as the nation-state of the Jewish people, we, Israelis, will have little reason to take any risks to advance the real intent as we perceived it of the Palestinian Arabs.
P.S. We really don`t need the Arabs` aproval of who we are as a people and the right of our nation-state to exist. But we do need to hear it from people who have attempted for many decades to annihilate our state. |
