| Knowing that Bush has already criticized Israeli expansion as "an impediment to peace", Olmert is now daring Bush to escalate the level of criticism. Even if Bush were to become openly hostile to Israel, which is unlikely, he will be gone soon and Israel need not fear him. I do suspect that the wheels are turning in Washington on how they will approach a mideast peace, when their "trusted partner" is doing everything possible to undermine the peace. Bush has never been one to give in to outside pressure. He just digs in with his heels. Perhaps we will see some interesting developments in his "final days" in office. |
